What We Do

Since 2018, we have conducted regular in-person dance and gentle movement classes with women detained at the Cook County Department of Corrections, where we have also been able to host numerous guest artists for master classes and performances.

Starting in 2020, we have brought regular dance and gentle movement classes and guest performances to returning citizens at Grace House. At Grace House, we were able to provide remote and outdoor sessions during the pandemic shutdown.

Our partners in working with detained and returning women include Ayodele Drum & Dance, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, The Hyde Park School of Dance, Jana Barta of Bonedance, Ellen Aldridge, Paige Fraser, Elysia Banks of Banks Performance Project, Nexus Performing Arts Company, Joshua Ishmon and Sam Trump of Production COLORS, and The Chosen Generation Dance Ministry of Progressive Community Church.
